Suspect robs store, drops some cash leaving scene
By Andy Paras
Goose Creek Police say an armed man robbed a convenience store of $228 — about $150 less than he would have taken had he not run into the doorway and dropped some of the money on his way out.
Police say the robbery happened at 10:25 p.m. Friday at the Big T's convenience store on 402 St. James Avenue.
Witnesses told investigators that the suspect wearing all-black pointed a silver gun at the clerk and demanded all of the money in the cash register. The clerk said the suspect grabbed the money and attempted to run out of the building when he ran into the door and dropped $150 in various bills, according to an incident report.
A second witness told police that he was inside the store playing a video game when he saw the suspect enter the store with a silver handgun. The witness said he ran out of the store as fast as he could during the holdup. He told police he ran toward Barrington Boulevard and noticed the suspect following him before changing directions, the incident report says.
Officers found a black mask and three $5 bills lying along Kensington Drive.
No one has been arrested in the case.
The suspect is described as about 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds. The clerk couldn't pinpoint the suspect's race because of the mask, the report says.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Goose Creek Police at 863-5210 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

They couldn't determine his race because of the mask? Here's a hint: HE'S BLACK!
