Goose Creek boy's death under investigation

Goose Creek police are investigating what caused the death of a 2-year-old boy.

The boy died Friday at Medical University Hospital, Berkeley County Coroner Glenn Rhoad said.

Rhoad said he is leaving the cause of death open until an autopsy report is completed. Results of toxicology tests aren't expected for another two months, he said.

Authorities say the boy was taken to MUSC Children's Hospital on April 18. Goose Creek police were later called to the hospital, an incident report says.

Casey Fletcher, Goose Creek police public information officer, said the there is no other information to release at this time.
