LADSON — The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a man who robbed a motel in the College Park Road area Thursday night and pistol-whipped the clerk.

The robber was black and about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build. He wore dark- colored shorts, a flowered, Hawaiian-style shirt and a white towel wrapped around his head.

About 5 p.m., the man entered the Magnolia Inn, a Best Western motel on Treeland Drive near Interstate 26. He hit the clerk in the head with his gun and took the contents of the register, said Dan Moon, sheriff's public information officer.

Moon said the clerk's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

To provide information, call the Sheriff's Office at 723-3800 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

The sketch is the same as all the previous ones. I guess the P&C was tired of posting the same one over and over again.

The only sad part about alot of these places and people being robbed are that it's a prank. Not saying that this one was, but lately alot of places and people being robbed are in on it. People working in these different businesses know the amount of money that comes in, and resorts to these type pranks. As I stated, not all and maybe not this case. Where I live we had a fast food place robbed and two of the workers had their friends come in right before closing and held up the place. Each of them when questioned by police, story did not match, and this resulted in the truth being revealed.
