The man reported that he and the woman argued and that he clung to the car but fell off after it reached about 40 mph. After he fell, the man reported, the woman returned, punched him and hit him with the shoe.
The man suffered minor scratches and bruises but refused medical attention. He also said he didn't want to press charges against the woman, who was not immediately located, the report states. Bicyclist takes off; pot found in car
When questioned about what a deputy thought looked like a roadside drug transaction, the driver of a car reportedly claimed he and a bicyclist were just exchanging work schedules. But a search of the car turned up a bag of marijuana, says a Charleston County Sheriff's Office report.
On July 9, the deputy saw a man on a bicycle leaning into a parked car on James Island. The rider "appeared to be making a hand-to-hand transaction" and quickly fled the scene when he saw the deputy approaching, the report states. The deputy wrote that the odor of burned marijuana was coming from the car, which was occupied by three men and allegedly was parked illegally. The 20-year-old driver reportedly denied drug use and said the bicyclist was his workplace manager and that they were going over work schedules.
When asked why the rider left in such a hurry, the driver said their conversation had ended, the report states.
A search turned up a marijuana smoking pipe with residue, a small bag of pot and a driver's license the deputy concluded could be used by someone under 21 to pass for someone older, reports say. The driver was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of a duplicate license.
Bike, surfboards are in fight report
A roadway incident involving a bicycle and surfboards got attention from the Folly Beach Public Safety Department. A report states that on July 18 a fight broke out at the beach's Washout area, and a disturbance at the road was hindering traffic flow.
A 54-year-old man told police he was riding his bicycle on the road when his path was blocked by two men walking and carrying surfboards. He yelled at them to get out of the way, and as he tried to ride between them, he was knocked from the bike by a surfboard that fell to the asphalt, the report states.
The man reportedly suffered cuts and scrapes to his hands, arms and legs, but he refused EMS. He said he was punched in the back of the head while he was down but said he didn't have time to write a statement for police.
The men who had been walking and carrying surfboards told police a different story. They allegedly said they were on the side of the road when the bike rider cursed at them, told them to move and then crashed into them. The impact knocked a surfboard loose, they reported. Witnesses also gave police accounts of what happened. No one in the crowd wished to press charges, the report states.

Bites and spitting get man arrested
After reportedly consuming a lot of dark rum, a 28-year-old man was said to have loudly cursed neighbors and relatives, bit two people, spat on one, attempted to bite EMS personnel and broke the glass out of a sliding door, according to a Folly Beach Public Safety Department report.
The report states that a disturbance began July 16 when some men were trying to get a stuck car free from a driveway. A neighbor told the men to be quiet or he'd call police. Later, the report states, the 28-year-old began cursing the neighbor, and then after someone tried to chase the man off the property, he went to the back of the house and broke the glass.
When police arrived, the 28-year-old was being held down by three other men. EMS placed a mask over his face while transporting him to a Charleston hospital to prevent any more spitting and biting, the report states.
Folly police charged the man with disorderly conduct by intoxication and malicious injury to property. The citations were handed to the suspect's mother due to his intoxicated state, the report states.
