Accident kills utility worker
MACEDONIA — A Santee Cooper lineman was electrocuted Tuesday morning.
Jeremy Thomas, 25, of Moncks Corner, was working on a high-voltage power line about 10:20 a.m. about five miles north of Moncks Corner on U.S. Highway 17A when the accident happened, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury said.
Thomas collapsed in his work bucket, which was extended above ground. Efforts were made to resuscitate him, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Salisbury said.
Authorities are investigating what caused the electrocution.

Linemen have very dangerous jobs and should be apprecaited more, and not only thought of when your power goes out. I send my condolences to his family.
