Teen pushed from moving vehicle
Adonis Blake, 17, plays football at Baptist Hill
By Nadine Parks
HOLLYWOOD — A Baptist Hill High School football player apparently was pushed from a moving vehicle Tuesday afternoon on S.C. Highway 162 and badly injured, authorities said.
Adonis Blake, 17, of Adams Run was found on the road about 2:30 p.m.
A witness caught the end of the incident, seeing only that Blake was rolling down the highway and that a small truck, possibly a burgundy Ford Ranger, was traveling away from him headed toward Charleston, according to the police report.
Deputies searched the area but didn't find the truck.
Blake, an offensive lineman for the Bobcats, appeared to have suffered a serious head injury, Charleston County Sheriff's Office Maj. John Clark said. He said Blake apparently was pushed from a vehicle.
Investigators had no suspect late Thursday and were waiting for an opportunity to speak with Blake at Medical University Hospital. His condition was unknown.
To provide information about the incident, call the Sheriff's Office at 202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

I hope the young man wasn't caught up in something nefarious.
In either event I hope he recovers and his family finds out what really happened.

I see so many teens take reckless chances on the roads, could he have been riding in the back of the pickup and fallen out? I think it is called "road surfing".

bornin43 I was thinking the same. Maybe the other teens freaked when he fell and kept going. It's so many 'teens' out here that are committing adult crimes that we sometimes forget how careless a 'normal' teen can be. I'm thinking this was teen play that got out of hand, but I'll wait to hear more. My prayers are with the family for a speedy recovery!

Wow...I can honestly say we did some crazy things in high school and I just went through so many emotions. First, I felt sorry for his family and hope he recovers soon. Second, I felt guilty because I know I did some crazy stuff in high school and it could've ended tragically. Third, 8 years ago in college I was forced to jump from a moving car and I believed that saved my life. God please protect him and watch over his family.

Just some basic new player hazing. He was supposed to be wearing a full football uniform when he rolled out. They must have forgot that part.
