A Legend in his own right
Successful singer makes his way to North Charleston Saturday night
A big celebrity is coming to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center Saturday night. Preview was unable to get an interview, but we can tell you a little about him.
He's been known to play a ditty or two on the piano. And, judging from his success, he's not too bad at it.
He earned acclaim and took home five Grammys with his debut, "Get Lifted" and his sophomore album, "Once Again" and has easily sold five million records worldwide.
It's no doubt then, that his latest effort, "Evolver," is sure to please. And just to make sure that happens, a few friends pitched in to help him evolve to a whole new level.
The first single, "Green Light," features Andre 3000 from OutKast, the song "It's Over" was written by Pharrell and features Kanye West and will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas produced "I Love, You Love."
Buju Banton lent his talent to the bonus track "Can't Be My Lover" and you may remember the socially conscious "If You're Out There" from its early debut in August 2008 for the Democratic National Convention. Estelle and Brandy round out the list of guests on "Evolver" during the respective songs "No Other Love" and "Quickly."
At Saturday's show, it will be an 11-piece band that keeps this Legend company and India.Arie who opens during this summer tour.
