Battery next faces Houston
The Charleston Battery hosts the two-time MLS champion Houston Dynamo in the quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blackbaud Stadium.
The Battery advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 3-1 home victory over Major League Soccer's Chivas USA. The MLS-leading Dynamo beat Texas foe Austin, 2-0, on Wednesday in the third round. Houston got goals from Corey Ashe and Dominic Oduro against the Aztex, like the Battery a USL First Division club.
Charleston is unbeaten at Blackbaud Stadium this year, with six wins and three ties. The Battery is in second in the USL First Division.
Charleston has played Houston in the U.S. Open Cup for the past two seasons and has advanced past the MLS team on both occasions.
