Electric vehicle plant considering South Carolina, four other states
MOBILE, Ala. - South Carolina is one of five states being considered for an electric vehicle manufacturing plant that would create 2,600 jobs during the next five years.
CT&T Company Ltd. of South Korea says it plans to decide by September among sites in Alabama, California, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Curt Westlake, a spokesman for the company's U.S. branch, said the sites will see full assembly of electric cars within 12 months.
Westlake said CT&T plans to build a North American headquarters, a research and development center and several manufacturing facilities, which could be spread among multiple states or consolidated on one site.
He said CT&T would evaluate sites based on the presence of a skilled work force, the transportation infrastructure and the incentives offered.

Its too bad Marco might cost SC this opportunity. I doubt he would be received well in any negotiation with the South Koreans. His lack of credibility and effectivness going forward is perhaps the best argument for him to resign

Just what we need, 2600 hires and in 3-4 years (when the cars are sitting on the lots unsold) 2600 layoffs.
Unless the Koreans know something we don't about the technology, these are go-carts with trolling motors. Golf carts.
