Strom Altman switching to Suzuki after losing Dodge franchise

Weeks after losing his Dodge franchise as part of Chrysler LLC's bankruptcy reorganization, North Charleston car dealer Strom Altman said Wednesday his Remount Road store will sell new Suzuki vehicles.
The announcement marks Suzuki's return to the Charleston market after a seven-month void. Car dealer Johnny Dangerfield shuttered his two Suzuki sites in Summerville and Moncks Corner in January.
Chrysler cut ties with the former local Dodge dealership last month, even though Altman said his sales were strong. The Suzuki agreement, which was finalized Wednesday, will allow the dealership to add seven workers.

Very good move on Strom Altman to do this. A Suzuki dealership is needed badly for the Charleston area.

I hope it works out for them. They've been a Dodge dealer forever, and it's wrong for Chrysler to just dump them with no notice.

True weren't they off of east bay back in the 70s or was that another either way.after chrysler came out with the k car i refused to buy american again.although the new camaro looks nice.

Although Suzuki is needed in the Charleston area, as well as Subaru, Altman isn't the dealer to sell them. It was a bad Dodge dealer with a horrible service department, and will likely be a bad Suzuki dealership with a bad Suzuki service department. Having said that, they can't possibly be worse than Johnny's was.

The Rivers/Remount location was Burnside Dodge for years before Altman bought it.

I was on the lot one time for about 3 minutes. That was enough for me. I wouldn't buy any car make from this dealership. Terrible customer service on the front end, I can only imagine how bad the service is AFTER you've forked over the money.
