Teenager shot in abdomen
A teenager with a gunshot wound showed up at Medical University Hospital on Monday night in a taxicab, a police report said.
Police responded to the hospital to find that 17-year-old Roosevelt Javon Miller had been shot in the abdomen about 15 minutes earlier near Rutledge Avenue and Spring Street in downtown Charleston, the report said.
It said that Miller told police the gunman might have been trying to rob him.
The wound did not appear to be life-threatening, said Charles Francis, police public information officer.
