ANDERSON — Officials at automotive parts maker Robert Bosch Corp. say 78 workers in Anderson have taken voluntary severance packages.

Bosch says 75 employees at its North Charleston plant also accepted the packages.

The Anderson plant has 1,340 workers, while the North Charleston facility has 2,100 employees.

Bosch spokeswoman Becky MacDonald said the company did not have a goal for how many employees might accept the package.

But the North Charleston plant plans to eliminate 200 positions in the next few weeks.

MacDonald says no further reductions are planned in Anderson. She says the company is monitoring the automotive industry worldwide.

The severance package includes two weeks’ base pay plus one week’s pay for each year of service in addition to payment for all accrued vacation and sick time.
