2 men charged in pizza store heists

Friday, January 9, 2009

Charleston police have charged two North Charleston men in connection with two pizza shop robberies in December.

Dawud Shaheed and Deontrae Middleton, both 18, are charged with two counts of armed robbery, said Charles Francis, police public information officer.

The charges are related to robberies Dec. 7 at Buck's Pizza on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard and Dec. 9 at Domino's on East Bay Street, Francis said.

The men remain at the Charleston County Detention Center, where they face additional, unrelated charges, and a judge denied them the opportunity to make bail, the jail said.
