New Mount Pleasant Thrift Store to Benefit the CFW: The Center for Women has announced its partnership with South Carolina Thrift & Resale, a new thrift store opening in Mount Pleasant at the old Kerr Drug Store site. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Center for Women to help support programs and services offered to Lowcountry women. South Carolina Thrift and Resale is officially opening its doors this month. The store accepts donations of clothing, furniture, accessories, books and household goods. A special shopping preview reception will be held for friends and members of the Center for Women 5-8 p.m. Jan. 8. The grand opening takes place Jan. 9. The store is at 1670 U.S. Highway 17, Mount Pleasant.

The Power of Making a Difference: Inspirational journalist Daryn Kagan shows that the time to make a difference in the world is right now. Entrepreneurial Woman Series

How to Become An Enlightened Leader: Looking for a magic bullet to improve leadership thinking? Polarity Management principles and tools provide a method to document wisdom by accessing a deeper awareness of what it takes to create collaboration, manage change and improve results. Margaret Seidler, author of "Power Surge: A Conduit for Enlightened Leadership." This session will include a book signing and copies of her book will be available for purchase.
