What: Companion Dog class.
Who: Isle of Palms Recreation Department.
When: 7:30-8:30 p.m. weekly starting Monday and lasting seven weeks.
Details: This class is for dogs 6 months and older. The cost is $90 for Mount Pleasant residents and $95 for nonresidents.

What: All-You-Can-Eat Oyster Roast.
Who: Pet Helpers.
When: 6-9 p.m. Friday.
Where: Charleston Crab House, Wappoo Creek Drive, James Island.
Details: Admission to this Pet Helpers benefit is $20. Door prizes will also be given away.

What: Volunteer Meeting.
Who: The Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue.
When: 6-7:30 p.m., Jan. 20.
Where: The board room of Atlantic Bank and Trust, 152 East Bay St.
Details: The organization is looking for people who are passionate about helping abused and abandoned goldens. Free parking on the north side street adjacent to the building.

What: Kinderpuppy Class.
Who: Purely Positive Dog Training.
Where: Dolittle's of Charleston, 22F Windermere Blvd., Charleston.
When: Begins 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
Details: Classes are one hour long for seven weeks. Puppies are taught basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, wait at the door, watch me, walk on a loose leash, and come when called. Socialization is encouraged with both people and other puppies. The course costs $120.

What: PetSmart Adoption Days.
Who: Charleston Animal Society.
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 1st and third Saturday of every month.
Where: PetSmart, Long Point Road in the Belle Hall Shopping Center.
