Clemson nabs first receiver
Clemson picked up a receiver but missed on a linebacker among the prospects announcing their decision during the U.S. Army All American Bowl in San Antonio.
Wide receiver Bryce McNeal (6-2, 175) of Minneapolis committed to the Tigers over Minnesota, Oregon and Colorado. But linebacker Jon Bostic (6-2, 225) of Wellington, Fla., committed to Florida over Clemson, Florida State and LSU.
McNeal is Clemson's 10th commitment for the 2009 class and the first receiver. This season the one-time Michigan commitment caught 41 passes for 344 yards and one touchdown.
McNeal was the last player to make his declaration during the NBC telecast. Joined by members of his family and with the hats of his four schools on a table in front of him, McNeal said he would attend Clemson as he put on an orange Clemson baseball cap.
