Is PMS interfering with your life? There are several changes that you can make on your own to try and improve your PMS symptoms, including dietary changes and vitamin and mineral supplements (such as magnesium, calcium and vitamin B-6); decreasing caffeine intake and high-salt foods; a balanced diet; and adequate water intake.

There also are alternative therapies that help many women, including relaxation techniques, guided imagery, yoga, aerobic exercise and massage/reflexology.

These activities help in stress reduction, which may improve symptoms. Prescription drugs such as contraceptive pills, antidepressants or anti-anxiety medicines may be an option.
