TCU on Clemson's 2009 football schedule
CLEMSON — Clemson's 2009 football schedule officially became more difficult Friday afternoon.
TCU assistant athletic director Jack Hesselbrock said the Horned Frogs signed a contract Friday to play at Clemson on Sept. 26. It is a one-year deal.
Hesselbrock said there is an official announcement scheduled for 2 p.m.
Texas Christian replaces Central Michigan to complete the Tigers' schedule. CU had been in talks with Idaho, but negotiations talks broke down.
The Horned Frogs finished ranked No. 7 in the country last season after an 11-2 campaign, which they capped by defeating a 12-0 Boise State team in the Poinsettia Bowl.
Texas Christian was led by its defense last season, which allowed 10 points or less in eight games. The Horned Frogs lost seven defensive starters, but return Mountain West defensive player of the year Jerry Hughes, who recorded 15 sacks last season.
