Shooting in North Charleston leaves one dead

A North Charleston shooting report from early this morning has been elevated to a fatality.

At approximately 1:38 a.m., officers in the area of Liberty Hill responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 1727 Pearson St in Liberty Hill.

On scene, officers located a black male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina in critical condition were he later died.

Initial reports indicte the victim answered the door and had a conversation with a person unknown and shots were fired.

At this time no suspect is in custody and investigators are following up on leads.
