1 killed, another injured in shooting
One teenager was killed and another injured Saturday in what Hampton County officials are calling a homicide.
The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. on Risher Street in Gifford, the Hampton County Sheriff's Office reported.
Julius Gardner, 17, of Gifford was found dead, lying on the front porch of the residence with a gunshot wound to the stomach area. Shaqille Campbell, 15, also of Gifford, was shot in the incident and transported to Medical University Hospital, officials said.
Andretti A. Williams, 27, of Gifford was detained by deputies, and the sheriff's office said charges would be filed. The shooting occurred at Williams' residence, according to officials.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division's crime unit and town of Gifford Police Chief Kenneth Warren are assisting in the investigation.
