February hearing set on Sanford divorce
Updated 10:46 a.m., December 14, 2009
The final hearing on first lady Jenny Sanford’s divorce action against Gov. Mark Sanford is set for late February.
Charleston County Family Court records today show the hearing will be Friday, Feb. 26. A judge has not been determined and won’t be set until later, a court clerk said.
Jenny Sanford filed for divorce Friday, citing adultery pegged to Mark Sanford’s admitted affair with an Argentine woman. He made the admission in June after being confronted by the media after returning from South America.
Gov. Sanford has up to 30 days to respond to the four-page divorce request. It contained few details but said issues could be resolved.
The couple has been married for 20 years and have four children. A 90-minute block of time has been set aside.
