Monday, December 14, 2009

A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Facility Charleston rescued a 52-year-old man who had suffered a head injury aboard a tug boat about 54 miles southeast of Winyah Bay on Sunday morning.

The man injured his head in a slip-and-fall accident, and crewmates were concerned he also might have suffered a heart attack, according to the Coast Guard. The man was hoisted from the Tug Heron in 20-foot seas and transported to Georgetown Memorial Hospital in stable condition, the Coast Guard reported.
