Catering

Amy Cook has joined Fat Hen Catering as catering coordinator. Previously, she was with Good Food Catering.

Health care

Dr. Susan Doyle has joined Natural Health Center in Mount Pleasant as a chiropractor. She has a bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a doctorate of chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.

Law

Sarah G. Verstraten has joined Turner Padget Graham & Laney PA as an associate attorney in the firm's Charleston office. She practices primarily in the areas of general litigation and personal injury defense. She has a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law. Previously, she was a personnel officer and recruiting service support flight commander in the U.S. Air Force.

Also, Phillip Florence Jr. has joined Turner Padget Graham & Laney as a counsel in its litigation group based in the Charleston office. His practice focuses on general litigation, construction, employment and personal injury defense. He has a bachelor's degree from The Citadel and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

A. Smith Podris has joined Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP as an associate attorney in the firm's Charleston, office. She practices commercial and creditors' rights litigation. Previously, she was a law clerk for Karen J. Williams, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She has a bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston and a law degree from Vanderbilt University.

Logistics

Michael J. Stolarczyk has joined Kontane Logistics as president. He is based in the company's Charleston office. Previously, he was chief executive officer of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and also worked in various management positions within the A.P. Moller/Maersk Group. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from West Virginia University.

Nonprofit

Wendy Jo Seay has joined the Frances R. Willis SPCA in Summerville as shelter manager. Previously, she was shelter manager at Doc Williams SPCA in Moncks Corner and an animal control officer for the City of Goose Creek.

Real estate

John Oakley has joined John Poston & Co. Inc. as a residential sales associate in its downtown Charleston office. Previously, he worked for Kiawah Island Real Estate and Seabrook Island Real Estate. He specializes in residential real estate and is a certified resort and second-home property specialist.

Social services

Yvonne Doeere has joined Summerville-based Evidence-Based Associates as project manager for its "Put Families First" project. She has a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a master's degree from Washington University's George Warren Brown School of Social Work. She has worked in the mental health and child welfare fields for 15 years and served as an independent trainer and consultant for various community and government agencies for the last eight years.

Technology

Bob Tricarico has joined Charleston-based software firm PeopleMatter as vice president of sales. He has 15 years of sales management and marketing experience, and previously has worked with HRsmart and SuccessFactors. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Rachel Alvarado, Sally Clarkson and Sanatan Patra have joined Benefitfocus in the software developer's Charleston office. Alvarado is senior technology delivery manager. Clarkson is marketing manager. Patra is an engineer.
