16 guns stolen from mobile home
The resident of a Johns Island mobile home told Charleston County sheriff's deputies someone broke into his home on Sunday and stole 16 guns, about $8,000 worth of jewelry, a computer and a camera, according to police reports.
The River Road resident said he left his home at 7 a.m. and when he returned at 7 p.m., he noticed his rear door was open. Deputies found a pry mark on the door.
The guns, including four semi-automatic handguns, six revolvers, four rifles, a shotgun and a pellet gun, were being kept in a gun display case, which was damaged, the report said. The guns were valued at $5,500. The victim provided deputies with serial numbers for all of the guns and investigators entered the guns into a national database of stolen items, the report said.
Anyone with information about the crime should call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
