USC is reaching across the country in an effort to lure multi-talented athlete Lucky Radley (5-11, 195) of Woodland Hills, Calif., to Columbia. And Radley is giving the Gamecocks strong consideration. The Gamecocks have offered Radley and they like his versatility.

"They want me to play safety or defensive back but will give me an opportunity to play running back," Radley said. "I prefer safety but running back is more natural to me."

Radley also has offers from North Carolina, Iowa State, Colorado State, San Diego State, Arizona, Utah and Western Michigan. He says Florida appears close to offering. Radley will graduate in December and plans to decide on official visits soon. USC is in good shape for one of those trips.

Defensive backs

--John Fulton (6-0, 180) of Manning has decided on two of his official visit dates. He will go to Georgia when the Bulldogs host USC, and he will visit Alabama when the Crimson Tide takes on the Gamecocks. His three other official visits will be USC, Florida and LSU. Fulton continues to favor the Gamecocks over Alabama.

--Kenronte Walker (6-1, 207) of City College of San Francisco Junior College has had some contact from USC but would like to hear more from the Gamecocks. He's a native of Fayetteville, N.C., and knows some of the USC players. He's also hearing from Missouri and Oklahoma State. He will graduate in December and have three years to play two.

--USC has been recruiting Jake Skole (6-1, 185) of Roswell, Ga., for football and baseball but he narrowed his list to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Florida State.

Defensive linemen

--Sharrif Floyd (6-3, 309) of Philadelphia wants to make his official visit with USC the weekend of the Clemson game. Before he can nail down the date, he has to see how his season works out. He could still be in the playoffs over the Thanksgiving weekend. Floyd also plans to set an official visit date with Florida. Penn State, Ohio State, North Carolina, Miami and Boston College are others Floyd has mentioned as being on his list. He's planning to announce a decision at the Army All-American Game in January.

--USC has offered Calvin Smith (6-4, 275) of Hialeah, Fla., and is trying to get into the running for an official visit. He has 25 offers and has been looking the hardest at Florida, Florida State, Illinois, New Mexico, LSU and Auburn. He has set visits with Florida State and New Mexico.

Neal is favoring the schools which have offered and plans to set visits with them.

He has offers from Clemson, USC, Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Western Carolina and North Carolina A&T. Lipford recently visited USC to take in a scrimmage.

Running backs

Purdue and Boston College are showing him the strongest interest and want him to take official visits. They have offered along with Indiana, Iowa State, Buffalo, Middle Tennessee, Charleston Southern and Tulane. Kimble also is getting interest from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and North Carolina.

--James White (5-10, 196) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has Clemson, Wisconsin and Iowa among his favorites right now. He said there's a good chance he'll take an official visit to Clemson. He is scheduled to visit Wisconsin for their home opening game. White visited Clemson last summer. He has offers from Tulane, Princeton, Rutgers, N.C. State, Michigan State, South Florida, Louisville, Syracuse, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Kentucky.

--Irmo's Mustafa Greene (6-1, 205) said last week he currently favors Rutgers. He also told StateofRutgers.com that N.C. State and Maryland were recruiting him hard. Greene was recently selected for the Under Armour All-America Game and plans to announce his college decision there.

Linebackers

--Clemson and USC are among the offers for LaDarious Owens (6-3, 230) of Bessemer, Ala., and he's interested in both. Owens visited Clemson in the spring. Tigers recruiter Charley Harbison recruited Owens when he was at Mississippi State. Owens also likes his USC recruiter Lorenzo Ward. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas and UAB. He does not have a favorite and is not locked in to staying in state.

Last season he had 92 tackles and 18 sacks.

--Clemson is staying involved with Ferlando Bohanna (6-0, 230) of Memphis. He talked with recruiter Dan Brooks last week. Bohanna has offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and Mississippi State. He wants to take one of his official visits to Clemson.
