Sixteen local employers were named as finalists for the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
They are: AAI Services Corp.; Barling Bay LLC; Booz Allen Hamilton; Call Experts; the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce; Community Management Group; EMES LLC; KFR Services Inc.; the Lowcountry Graduate Center; LS3P Associates Ltd.; Morris Financial Concepts Inc.; Noisette Co.; Santee Cooper; Scientific Research Corp.; Stanley Inc.; and Tegron LLC.
To be eligible, employers must have a worksite in the Charleston area, at least 10 employees and be in operation for at least one year.
Employers that received honorable mentions were: the Charleston River- Dogs; the S.C. Depart- ment of Health and Environmental Control; Montessori School of Mount Pleasant; and Rick Hendrick Imports.
The Charleston chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute received the Outstanding Chapter Commendation from the national organization. It is the fifth year the local group has won the award. Chuck Ciesar is chapter president.
