AUGUSTA, Ga. - A truck driver has been charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a hospital chaplain from South Carolina.

A Richmond County sheriff's spokesman said 67-year-old Bill Snyder, a minister in North Augusta, S.C., was killed when the moped he was riding collided with a dump truck.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on Jones Street in Augusta.

The driver, Samantha Rivers of Warrenton, was also cited for making an improper turn and driving a commercial vehicle without a license.

A University Hospital spokeswoman said Snyder had served as chaplain since 2000.
