Antique tractors on display today

A tractor-pulling contest will highlight the annual antique tractor and engine show today in Meggett.

Dozens of antique tractors, engines and farm implements, all fully restored, will be displayed at the show to be held on Wilson Road in Meggett, just outside Hollywood. The show begins at 9 a.m. and the pulling contest starts at noon. Pre-1960 tractors will compete in various weight classes.

On display will be dozens of farm tractors and stationary engines from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, along with antique farm equipment and autos. Admission is $5; children 12 and under get in free.

Kids' activities will include a pedal tractor pull, hay rides and corn shelling. Food will be available.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding. Follow the signs from Charleston, Ravenel and Hollywood to Wilson Road off Toogoodoo Road. No pets, coolers or alcoholic beverages.
