Creative costumes

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

It might seem as though Halloween is far off, but if you're planning to make costumes for your kids this year, you'd better get on the ball.

Many people embrace Halloween as a chance to put together creative costumes. For some, it's a matter of figuring out what's hot this year (the Joker) or just coming up with a clever theme for the entire family (the "Wizard of Oz").

If you love making costumes, we'd like to see what you've come up with in the past (or even this Halloween if you're so on-the-ball that you're already prepared).

Send us a photo of your creation and a brief description of how you made the costume or where you got the idea to brindge@postandcourier.com or Brenda Rindge, Features Department, The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 3. Do not send photos of kids in store-bought costumes. E-mailed photos must be sent as attachments in JPG format. Hard-copy photos sent through the mail will not be returned. Include your name, phone number or e-mail address.
