Police seeking car that struck man
Charleston police were searching for a blue Ford sedan thought to have struck and killed a man Saturday evening on Savannah Highway in West Ashley.
The Crown Victoria was an older model with tinted windows, said Charles Francis, police public information officer. There is damage to the chrome grill and possibly the hood. A man wearing a white hat was driving the car.
The wreck happened in front of InTown Suites a few minutes after 11 p.m.
Earl Myers, 38, was taken to Medical University Hospital, where he died of blunt-force injuries at 11:35 p.m., Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal said. Myers was from Florida but had been living in the Charleston area for the past few months, O'Neal said.
Police said the car turned north onto Savage Road after the incident.
Anybody with information about the incident can call Charleston police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
