It is time for another enthralling edition of Here, Listen To This.

This time we find ourselves in front of Adam Hartman, a local DJ; appropriately named DJ Adam.

This Friday, and every other Friday at Big John's Tavern in downtown Charleston on East Bay Street, DJ Adam plays music. Like most good DJs, he takes requests.

For more info, visit www.myspace.com/bigjohnstavern. Now let's take a moment to hear from Sir Hartman.

Agent Orange — Bloodstains: I love classic punk with the fusion of surf rock ... Agent Orange was a staple going out to Folly Beach when I was (sometimes) in high school.

To revisit an era when punk was a little sweatier, go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR8UcVruNgE or use the keywords "Agent," "Orange" and "Bloodstains" to track down this song.

Nirvana — Heart Shaped Box: Nirvana. An ideal condition of rest, harmony, stability or joy. Oh, the band ... it was anything but that. They were such a relief from all of the crappy music of the '90s. From pop hair bands and groups such as the New Kids on the Block and the mall girl Debbie Gibson, they actually had talent. "Heart Shaped Box" is tormented and very sad. Great song.

Revisit a time when Nirvana was king with the help of the keywords "Nirvana" and "Box" or visit this address: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK7Ai9dWrRQ.

Adam Sandler — Lunchlady Land: Adam Sandler's song is great and Chris Farley is hilarious in the video, too. Adam Sandler is a comic genius. The song is as catchy as anything Sandler has done.

Check it out at www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_-KbstEG4E or the keywords "Sandler" and "Lunchlady" will send you down the path of dancing lunch meats and Chris Farley.

Led Zeppelin — Kashmir: "Kashmir" is one of the must-have tracks in your iPod. I can't get enough Led Zeppelin. With the amount of volume, depth and talent this band had, they helped define what hard rock would sound like. They did, however, steal a lot from various bluesmen. But every band steals a bit from everyone to create what they then call their own sound.

Haven't heard "Kashmir" or feeling the urge to hear it again? Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTaOvzZKRxA or use the keywords "Zeppelin" and "Kashmir" to complete your search.

B.B. King — The Thrill Is Gone: This is one of the best Delta blues songs ever created. I had this in my portable CD player back in 1994 when I was moving all the stuff from my girlfriend's and my apartment after a split.

Hear Lucille and B.B. do their thing at www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vI_XMn-tRc or use the keywords "King," "B.B." and "Thrill."

Fall Out Boy — Thnks Fr The Mmrs: Fall Out Boy. Hmmm. Emo meets pop. Sounded very commercial. Good song for three months, and we'll never hear it again. So glad.

Are you a Fall Out Boy fan? Not sure? The keywords "Fall," "Boy" and "Thnks" or the address www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWHf_vYZzQ8 will help you decide.

A couple of weekends ago, my wife and I went hiking (notice I took my wife with me) (and we actually went hiking) in the mountains of North Carolina. It was during that time, surrounded by vast amounts of open space and the gentle sounds of nature, that I had a chance to reflect on some things, most notably, how much I missed cable television.
