Deputy fired after being arrested
Thursday, September 11, 2008
AIKEN — A former Aiken County deputy has been charged with assaulting an 18-year-old he was arresting.
The sheriff's office said Jeffrey Nation, 40, of Aiken, was arrested Tuesday, two days after he struck a New Ellenton teenager. Sheriff's spokesman Michael Frank said Nation was no longer an officer as of Tuesday. A statement from the sheriff's office said Nation falsely accused the teen of trying to head-butt him.

If you watch the cop's video, you can clearly see that the suspect was not trying to head-butt anyone. After he was knocked almost off his feet he did not retaliate. What I don't understand is why did it take two days to arrest him, not to mention why he was still on the force after the incident in 2004.

The video IS pretty laughable. I saw it this morning. Cop yoked the kid and the kid fell. When he got up, he was smiling, he knew what time it was.
I gotta got with JohnQ Squared on this one, the cop threw his career away for some saggy pants. I hope it was worth it!

Are you toking while blogging? That's pretty amusing to see that level of freakshow mentality without having to pay for it.
No crowds in the midway, either!

The paper usually prints a picture of the accused. Ever wonder why they don't do that when a cop is involved?

If he got fired for that, then 25-50% of the US police force should have been fired at some point in their career.
