William Brooks has joined Holy City Hospitality's Good Food Catering as a chef. He has a degree from West Virginia University's Eberly College of Arts and Sciences. Previously, he worked at The Vintage Room in West Virginia.
Education
Leigh Moscowitz, David Moscowitz and Michael Lee have joined the College of Charleston's Department of Communications.
Moscowitz is an assistant professor. Previously she was a media relations manager and corporate communications manager for WebMD and has also taught at Indiana University and Butler University. David Moscowitz is a visiting assistant professor. He has taught at Butler University, Wabash College, Bradley University, Miami University in Ohio and Indiana University. Lee is an assistant professor. He previously taught at the University of Minnesota and the University of Georgia.
Also, the college's School of Education, Health, and Human Performance has hired Maria Manning as assistant professor, Kelley Mayer as assistant professor and Martha Bireda as visiting associate professor. Also, Megan Moran, Elizabeth Van Meer and Samuel Pierce have joined the history department as visiting assistant professors.
Addlestone Hebrew Academy has announced five new hires. Adam Wade is chef and cooking instructor. He is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute. Virginia Bat is foreign language teacher. She has an undergraduate degree in French and Spanish from the College of Charleston and master's degrees from the University of South Florida. Sarah Evans is director of development. She has a degree from Wofford College. Linda Smith is a Tiny Tots teacher. She has 27 years of early childhood education experience and has served as interim assistant principal at Orange Grove Elementary School. Mindy Hogan is a lead EC3 teacher. She has psychology degree from the College of Charleston.
Engineering
Amy R. Blackshear has joined SCS Engineers to assist with environmental compliance, permitting and planning projects and emergency action plans. She has a degree in geology from the College of Charleston.
Fitness
Katie Ashley has joined PraXis Balanced Body Studio as a certified pilates practitioner. She is a certified personal trainer and has eight years of industry experience. She is pursuing a degree in psychology and movement therapy.
Lodging
Bob Seidler has joined the Woodlands Resort & Inn as general manager. He has more than 30 years experience and has a degree from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He previously worked at the Wentworth Mansion and is a past chairman of the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Travel Council. He is on the city of Charleston's Tourism Commission.
Nonprofit
Linda Bell has joined the Charleston Animal Society as shelter veterinarian. She has a degree in veterinary science from Colorado State University and has practiced in New Mexico and Aiken.
Gordon Robertson III, Nancy Olson and Mie Lucas have joined the Lowcountry chapter of the American Red Cross. Robertson is regional development officer and leads the fund-raising efforts for the chapter's seven-county region. He has degrees from Trinity University and Emory University School of Law. Olson is development associate and will handle public affairs. She has a communications degree from Western Washington University and a master's of public health from the University Of South Carolina. Lucas is the emergency services associate. She has a degree in psychology from Augusta State University.
Jessica Bradley has joined the ASCEND Foundation as executive director. Previously, she was an agent with Carolina One Real Estate and worked for Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina handling fund-raising and special events. She has a degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Garrett Walker has joined the Summerville Family YMCA to coach its year-round swim team. Walker has more than 25 years of experience. He has a bachelor's degree from Furman University and a master's degree in education from The Citadel.
Office services
Neal Kolnik has joined Docugraphics as a Xerox sales agent for downtown Charleston and James Island. He has a degree from the University of South Carolina.
Publishing
Lindsay Harris has joined Arcadia Publishing as acquisitions editor. She has a degree from Clemson University and previously was an associate editor for GS Magazine in Myrtle Beach. At Arcadia, she is responsible for acquiring and managing South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Arkansas books.
Real estate
Richard L. Slater has joined Keller Williams Charleston-West as an agent. He has a degree in hospitality, hotel, restaurant and tourism management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Restaurant
David Pell has joined Holy City Hospitality's Coast Bar & Grill as executive chef overseeing culinary operations and menu development. He has degrees from the University of South Carolina and L'Ecole Gregoire-Ferrandi/L'Ecole Superieure de la Cuisine Francaise. He previously was chef de la cuisine at 39 Rue de Jean.
