More than 70 percent of people with Alzheimer's are cared for by a family member at home, and the caregiver often is isolated and overwhelmed by the challenges of looking after a person with the disease.

"This lecture series is ... a bridge to the caregiver and will be instrumental in the establishment of a support group for family caregivers in the James Island area," said Fran Emerson, program director of the local Alzheimer's Association.

"Alyson Fudge brings to the table a wealth of information and experience for families facing legal issues associated with care giving long term for a loved-one with Alzheimer's disease. This program is a must for any family affected by this illness," Emerson said.

To attend, call Fran Emerson at 571-2641 or Patti Mears at 795-3102.
