14th Airlift Squadron returning to Charleston AFB today
More than 125 airmen from the 14th Airlift Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base will return home at noon today from a 120-day deployment to southwest Asia.
As part of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and Joint Task Force Horn of Africa, the 14th Airlift Squadron, flying the C-17A Globemaster III, delivered more than 108 million pounds of cargo and transported more than 70,000 airmen, soldiers, sailors and Marines throughout southwest Asia.
Additionally, the squadron conducted more than 20 aeromedical evacuation missions, carrying 14 critical patients, nine priority patients, 41 litters and 64 ambulatory patients to safety. Also, the unit transported more than 1.87 million pounds of medical supplies to hospitals to treat wounded troops.

Welcome home guys! One of my friends left the other day to relieve some of them - he will be missed. Hopefully he will return safe around New Years. Thank you all for all that you have done!
