MONCKS CORNER Berkeley County wants to know your vision of its future. With the population expected to grow by nearly 40 percent in the next 22 years, county officials say it's crucial they start planning how to protect existing neighborhoods while creating new ones. They're asking for the public to help by taking part in a series of a community meetings this fall to revise the county's comprehensive plan, which counties use to help guide everything from growth and development to the use of natural resources. The first meeting is Sept. 11 in Ladson. "The county has to plan for at least 60,000 more residents by 2030," said Jeff Tyndall, director of planning and zoning. "In addition to residences, job needs, civic needs and commercial needs have to be taken into consideration." Read more details in tomorrow's editions of The Post and Courier.
