Architecture

Mark Dempsey has joined LS3P Associates Ltd. 's Image Studio. He has a degree in architecture and interior architecture from Auburn University.

Building Supplies

Jeremy Good has joined Revere Building Products as an outside sales representative. He previously worked for the Contractor Yard in Charleston and Columbia Wholesale in Columbia. He has a degree from The Citadel.

Construction

Dave Nichols has joined Hunter Construction Co. LLC as project manager. A graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College, he is a licensed general contractor with more than 30 years of experience in construction. He was previously a project manager for Alison Dailey Properties Inc.

Education

East Cooper Montessori Charter School has added four people to its teaching staff.

Schrader Fowler is middle school English language arts teacher. She previously taught at Morningside Middle School and Burke A+ Academy. She has a degree from Vanderbilt University's Peabody School of Education.

Robert Hartnett is middle school math teacher. He has an economics degree from the College of Charleston and a master's degree in mathematics education from The Citadel. He previously taught high school in McClellanville.

Terry Walsh is technology teacher. She has a computer science degree from Georgia State University and worked for Blackbaud Inc. for 15 years.

Lisa DiFabio is a special education teacher. She has a degree in special education from the College of Charleston and previously was employed by Trident Academy.

Investments

Anthony Bland has been appointed director of Merrill Lynch's Southeast coastal complex in Charleston, where he will lead 102 financial advisers. Bland joined Merrill Lynch as associate director in 2006 and has worked for the firm in Orlando, Fla., and was interim director in the Sarasota and Canaveral, Fla., markets. He has an accounting degree from the University of Connecticut and a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of North Carolina.

Marketing

Jennifer Hammes has been promoted to associate creative director in the Charleston office of Chernoff Newman. She previously was senior art director. She has more than 10 years of experience and formerly worked for MARC USA in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and BCF in Virginia Beach, Va.

Also, Brandon Keller, Lexie Leyman and Matt Seal have joined the firm's local office. Keller is an account executive. Leyman and Seal, graduates of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina, respectively, are account coordinators.

Medical

Lowcountry Medical Associates has added three physicians to its practices. Dr. Rush Brown has joined West Ashley Primary Care as a hospitalist for patients at Roper Hospital and Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Scott Evans has joined East Cooper Family Practice with added qualifications in geriatric medicine. He has privileges at Roper St. Francis Healthcare and East Cooper Regional Medical Center. Dr. Stuart Dawson has joined Windermere Family Medicine & Urgent Care. He is board-certified in family medicine and has privileges at Roper and Bon Secours St. Francis hospitals.

Mortgage

Mitch Chisholm has joined First Charleston Mortgage. He has more than 20 years of lending experience in the Charleston area. He was most recently with Stono River Mortgage.

Nonprofit

Sydney Meeks Fowler has joined the Noisette Foundation as president. Fowler previously was president and chief executive officer of the Tribeca Film Institute in New York.

Also, Heather R. Osterfeld has joined the foundation as director of development. She previously was executive vice president of national sales for the Cannon Financial Institute and served as director of the Sustainability Institute of South Carolina from 2002 to 2003.

Jessica Johnston has joined Charleston Trident United Way as director of leadership. She previously was a director of client relations for Trio Solutions Inc. She has a business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Lindsey Ballenger has joined Water Missions International as director of development. She has a degree from Clemson University and has six years of nonprofit fundraising experience. She previously worked for the College of Charleston Foundation.

Office Equipment

Steve Sommerdyke has joined Wulbern-Koval Co. as sales and marketing director for general line products.

Steve Phillips has joined COMDOC as service manager of its North Charleston office. Previously, he was a regional technical support manager for Kyocera's North and South Carolina operations.

Real Estate

Jill Stein has joined ERA Tides Realty as an agent in the James Island office. She has nine years of experience in outside sales. Previously, she was with Keller Williams Realty.

Jenny Steele has joined Beach Residential, the home-sale division of The Beach Co. She will work as a sales agent at the Seaside Farms office in Mount Pleasant. Previously, she was with Beazer Homes for 11 years.

Donna Dunn has joined Exit Realty on Sullivan's Island as a property manager. She previously worked for 13 years in property management, housekeeping and vacation rentals at Island Realty.

Danielle Hartley has joined Avocet Properties as an agent focusing on the Folly Beach and Mount Pleasant markets. She was previously with Dunes Properties.

Heath Windsor has joined Jackson Appraisal Service Inc. He previously worked in residential construction and is a University of Alabama graduate.

Jennifer Weeks and Ken Skidmore have joined Carolina Sun GMAC Real Estate as agents. Weeks has a sports management degree from Campbell University. Skidmore has a political science degree from West Virginia University.

Laura Hunt and Jim Fox have joined Keller Williams Charleston as agents. Hunt is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and has worked as an office manager and construction supervisor and in outside sales. Fox relocated from Columbia and is retired from the Air Force.

Restaurant

The Fat Hen on Johns Island has promoted Todd Mazurek to executive chef and John Whisenant to chef de cuisine.

Retail Services

Ashley Parker and Shane Clevenger have joined The Charleston Angler Embroidery and Screen Printing Shop.

Parker is manager. She has four years of experience in the imprinted and embroidered apparel industry and is a graduate of the College of Charleston.

Clevenger is graphic designer. He has a degree in graphic design from Francis Marion University.
