Public input sought on S.C. energy policies
COLUMBIA — The public is asked to weigh in on South Carolina's future energy plan.

The State Regulation of Public Utilities Review Committee is looking for written comments to be submitted either by mail or electronically to help legislators and the state's congressional delegation when drafting future energy policies.
Comments sent by mail are due by Nov. 17. Electronic replies are due by Dec. 1.
Any supporting documentation must be properly cited.
The public can provide information on any energy-related matter, but the committee is specifically looking for answers to a list of eight questions.
Electronic comments should be submitted in Microsoft Word with supporting documents in .pdf format. Send replies to coombsn@scsenate.org.
Written comments and supporting documents may be mailed to Heather Anderson, State Regulation of Public Utilities Review Committee, P.O. Box 142, Columbia, SC 29202.
Senate President Pro Tem Glenn McConnell called for the committee to begin immediate work on addressing South Carolina's energy needs.
"I believe responsibility lies with our General Assembly to conduct research, hold hearings, and act when it comes to policy that will put our state among the winners both as to energy supply and environmental stewardship," McConnell, R-Charleston, said in a statement.
Oral testimony will be accepted at a future committee meeting.
