Man says he was hit with brick, robbed
A man reported that a pair of robbers hit him on the head with a brick then held him up at gunpoint as he was riding a bicycle Tuesday morning near North Charleston's Spruill Avenue, police said.
The 57-year-old was on Baxter Street heading toward Chicora Avenue when one of the men, who were walking in the opposite direction, hit him, a report says. As he lay on the ground, one of the robbers pulled out a handgun and stole the wallet from his back pocket. They tried to take his bicycle but he held on to it.
No update on the victim's condition was available on Wednesday.
He described both suspects to police as black males who appeared to be in their mid-teens and 20 years old. The one with the brick was about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 185 pounds with a black, hooded sweatshirt and a short haircut. The other was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds with a brown jacket.

I'm not sure hanging on to a bike when someone is trying to take it from you with a gun in their hand is a smart thing to do. He's fortunate that he's still alive.

Maybe he should have used his other hand to hold on to his wallet... after all it worked for his bicycle.
