Silverstein reunion aboard tall ship

The Deputy Chief of Naval Personnel, Rear Admiral Edward "Sonny" Masso, was the guest speaker at the Silverstein's reunion banquet Thursday, aboard the Spirit of Carolina attended by 85 crew members and families.

Also attending the reunion was one of the ship's former commanding officers, retired Capt. Joseph E. Gould, the admiral's stepfather.

Capt. Gould was the ship's C.O. from September 1951-1953.

This year's reunion was held at Homewood Suites in Charleston and attendees were to tour historic Charleston, Magnolia Gardens, Patriots Point, the South Carolina Aquarium, Fort Moultrie and Boone Hall Plantation being conducted by Charleston Convention & Group Services Inc.
