Oct. 25: Sewee Lecture Series, Loggerhead Sea Turtles. 2 p.m. DuBose Griffin, S.C. sea turtle coordinator of the Marine Turtle Conservation Program with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources, will speak on the S.C. Conservation Program for sea turtles. Information on activities of loggerhead sea turtles, nesting sites, hatchlings and volunteer efforts on Cape Romain Refuge also will be discussed. Free.

Oct. 25: Free Fishing Rodeo for Children with Special Needs. 9 a.m.-noon. An annual event for kids with disabilities and their families. The free event provides some tackle and bait (though families can bring their own), as well as picnic lunch, prizes and fish art activities. Kids can fish for bass, catfish and bream from the pond next to Sewee Visitor Center. "Fish & Art" instructors will let the children learn all about fish and then make their very own fishy T-shirt.
