Fiberboard maker closing S.C. plant

Monday, October 20, 2008

ORANGEBURG — A fiberboard manufacturing facility in South Carolina is closing, taking about 100 jobs from the Holly Hill area.

Roseburg Forest Products announced on Friday that it is closing its plant that produces panels for furniture, cabinetry and decorative molding in December because of a decline in new home construction.

The company said officials will re-evaluate the closure next year and decide whether to restart operations.
