Clemson recruits back out
By Phil Kornblut
The recruiting fallout from Tommy Bowden's announced departure as Clemson's football coach has hit the Tigers' 2009 class hard.
Arguably their top two commitments, defensive backs Craig Loston (6-3, 210) of Aldine, Texas, and Devonte Holloman (6-3, 210) of South Pointe announced Monday they no longer are committed to the Tigers. In fact, Holloman will make an official visit to USC this weekend.
Two other commitments, running back Roderick McDowell (5-10, 175) of Sumter and offensive lineman Brandon Thomas (6-4, 285) of Dorman said that while they remain committed to the Tigers, they do plan to take another look at USC and other options.
Clemson interim head coach Dabo Swinney knows the sudden turn of events can kill a recruiting class. "You've got a change made and a lot of questions and a lot of concerns about the directions of the program," Swinney said Monday night. "You've got an interim head coach situation. There's going to be some things lingering out there until this job is resolved one way or another."
Swinney has been one of the Tigers' most successful recruiters, but one of the first things he has to find out is if he can still go on the road like an assistant coach, or is bound by the rules that pertain to a head coach.
and is thus much more limited as to the number of contacts he can have with a recruit. Swinney said former graduate assistant coach Jeff Scott, who has been promoted to a full time position, will be going on the road as a recruiter.

shhhhhhhhh..... its little ditch's nappy time, he'll be back in about an hour, he and the rest of the special ed class are sleeping. I have no clue why he is not wearing his cute little OU jammies with the covered wagons on 'em anymore. He seems to be drinking way to much orange kool-aid too?

Actually 1-3. 2 of those wins shouldn't count. Neither should NC State, but let's be nice. And I don't think Wofford or UAB should count for the Cocks.

Now that there is new blood at the top, perhaps Clemson should give chase to WR Rolando Jefferson (sp?) from Cali.
