Share fast, flavorful food

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Many area youth groups start or end their weekly meetings with a meal together.

Often, parents of the participants are pressed into service when it comes time to provide those meals.

What do you feed a group of hungry adolescents or teenagers, especially when you are not preparing the meal in your own kitchen? How can you please the masses without spending hours in the kitchen?

We want to know your favorite recipes for feeding your child's group, and hear any stories of good intentions gone awry. Did you ever burn the spaghetti so badly you had to make a last-minute call for pizza? What meals are easy, fun, unusual and popular?

Send your favorite recipe, along with a brief description of when you used it and who you served, to brindge@postandcourier.com or Brenda Rindge, The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 17.

Some of the responses will be used on an upcoming Food section.
