Graham defuses talk of Cabinet role

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. (left), and Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., have been mentioned as possible Cabinet nominees should Sen. John McCain be elected president. Graham said Friday that he would spurn any such offer and 'will stay in the Senate if re-elected.'
You see them together everywhere these days: The streets of Iraq, the halls of Congress, the campaign trail. If Lindsey Graham isn't with John McCain, there's a good chance he's representing him on the TV talk shows, in the Wall Street bailout talks or at the vice presidential debate. But South Carolina's senior senator said that doesn't mean he'd follow McCain to the White House. "Those folks who like seeing my smiling face will be seeing me around here for a while," Graham said Friday in North Charleston. "I will stay in the Senate if re-elected and serve out my second term." As the presidential campaign season has progressed, Washington pundits have been calling Graham, and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the McCain surrogates. Graham represents his Senate colleague and friend at the presidential debate commission, and recounting the Republican presidential nominee's role in the bailout talks. For a while some people even figured Graham would get the vice presidential nod, which got the political types in South Carolina talking. Some of them speculate that the former Air Force judge advocate general would be a lock for defense secretary or attorney general. Graham said that despite his campaigning for McCain, he's focused on getting re-elected to the Senate, even if he's mostly talking about McCain these days. "If John McCain is president, I will be one of the people representing him, and if Barack Obama is elected, I will fight him tooth and nail," Graham said. "I think whatever tal-ent I have is best utilized in the Senate." Jeri Cabot, an adjunct professor of political science at the College of Charleston, said Graham's response is typical. "You've got to keep all your options open," Cabot said. "You don't want to appear to the electorate that you have your eye on another job before you are even re-elected." Graham arrived in Charleston on Friday ready to spend the weekend campaigning. When he walked into the Republican Party "SC Victory 2008" headquarters in North Charleston, he was fresh off spin-room detail at the vice presidential debate. "I've never been more proud of John McCain and Sarah Palin," Graham said.

We pray for the defeat of Lindsey Graham as a beacon of hope to the future of our country and what is left of it. We must clean house of liberal neocon Republicans and anyone who voted for the bailout bill. I must vote for Conley. The debate is on October 11 8PM on TV.

Graham would be a GREAT choice for Secretary of the YMCA, a crossing guard in North Dakota, or he could get a job at a San Francisco bar and ask patrons if they want their stool pushed in.
Anything but stay in SC.

Count me as another vote against Graham. Lindsay - you are a traitor. This will be the second time I've ever voted for a Democrat, and 4th time I've NOT voted Republican overall. I cast my vote for Lindsay's opponent gladly.

An Obama election would unquestionably mean that the 700$ billion bailout package is simply an INITIAL installment on Obama's intended reparations payments to our African American population. As you will recall, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) voted overwhelming "AGAINST" the initial bailout proposal; but, after assurances by Obama to a prominent CBC member that, if elected, he would direct government officials to write-down the principal on inner-city delinquent mortgages, thirteen members of the CBC conveniently switched their bailout votes from "No" to "Yes". In other words the advertised feature of a promised re-coupment of the entire or at least a major portion of the bailout expense when the housing market recovered, which prompted conservative members of the congress, essential to its passage, to sign-on to the bailout legislation would prove to be a "total farce" under Obama. "Jawbone" Biden let Obama's hidden agenda "slip" during the VP debate when he stated that Obama intended to not only reduce interest payments on defaulting mortgages; but, "to as well write-down the principal". The apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. Obama, whose father was born into privilege, served as the Senior Economist for a corrupt Kenyan Government; and, advocated a: "100% taxation and repossession of land and property against the will of the rightful owner". An ideology that some call Communism; and, which was explicitly sanctioned by Obama with his proclamation: “It was into my father’s image . . . that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself.” Obama's Marxist principles are re-enforced by his 20+ year immersion in "Black Liberation Theology" thru his membership in Jeremiah Wright's church; and, its reliance on the foundation teachings of the Ideologies guru, James Cone, who wrote: "Marxism, as a tool of social analysis, can disclose the gap between appearance and reality, and thereby help Christians to see how things really are." There can be no rational argument countering the fact that Obama is the most far-left-radical EVER nominated by a major political party. His election would represent the obituary on an America as we now know it. Greg Neubeck

Still, no one has told me what you conservatives are going to do if Obama wins? I can really tell people are getting nervous!

"I can tell you what a lot of southern conservative and far right religious types will want if this happens: to secede from the union."
Good riddance, form their own banana republic.

Yeah 1776, I'm sure he's taking your advice seriously. We can all write our elected reps and voice our opinions and concerns. Whether they listen or not will be determined on election days.
Here are the links for you others that want the info:
http://www.senate.gov/
http://www.house.gov/
All replete with e-mail, postal and fax info for contacting your representative.
So lemme ask, from your question the other day, why should I be concerned about the FBI? Are you an undercover agent for them? Are you the thought police? are you questioning my patriotism? I dunno. You are the super "I love BIg Government" cheerleader around here, so I was just wondering if posts criticzing the mighty Feds, upsets your patriotic and delicate constitution?
I never got a response from your insipid post the other day asking if the FBI contacted me. It may be okay for people like you to wrap yourself in the flag and proclaim blind patriotism, but I prefer to think and let my actions speak. When citizens fear the government for voicing opinions, we, as a nation, are in trouble. Fortunately I don't fear the Feds, served them in a couple of wars and have dealt with them before. I defended the right to speak for you and many others, so keep talking dude and remove all doubt. Free speech works wonderful when folks like your self, try to brow beat others into towing the line. It becomes apparent and is very transparent to those that can think even a tiny bit and aren't wrapped up in the flag with John Phillip Sousa tunes blaring in the background 24/7. So I was just wondering where your thinly veiled childish threat was coming from?
Just need some answers.

First of all Lindsey Graham is going to keep his senate seat so for those who are wishing good luck because Graham is up 50% in the polls. If John McCain were to win i believe Graham would be Attorney General.

I know what I'll do if Obama wins....I'll start trying to learn a new language.
If we do what the liberals want:
1) Burn our flags (free speech or lack of respect?)
2) downsize the military
3) don't allow us to exploit our own oil for the short term
4) tax everyone to death
5) keep affirmative action/quotas that affect quality and efficiency
And do what some Republicans and some Democrats want (seemingly non-partisan):
1) Expand NAFTA, sending revenues overseas
2) Keep bailing out failing businesses and their wealthy beneficiaries with $700 Billion + loans from we taxpayers
3) Allow illegal immigration to go unabated
4) disregard our Judeo-Christian founding in favor of being tolerant to those who want to destroy us
And do what many Republicans want to do:
1) Keep occupying Iraq long enough that it will take another $700 Billion bailout to pay for
2) Ignore healthcare for another 4 years
3) Fail to go after the WMDs that IRAQ had (proven by the use on the Kurds by General "Chemical" Ali) and shipped to whatever God-forsaken place
4) Keep occupying in favor of "regime change" instead of just destroying a problem until it can't fight or hurt us anymore
5) Cater to the oil companies in favor of profits instead of being aggressive on developing alternative energy
Then screw it. One of our creditors (China, perhaps?) will either be able to own us due to insolvency, own us militarily (since we'll be downsizing), or just MOVE right in since we don't care about protecting our borders. Not even a flag-waving crowd to protest, since we will have burned all of those. I figure that if Obama gets in there, with a Democrat controlled congress, and just enough Republicans left to serve Republican interests (through the mighty filibuster, or course), I might as well learn the language of the country that has the best means to rule us if we continue the path we're on. I should've gone to foreign language school when the Navy offered it to me. Live and learn I guess.

I wouldn't vote for Grahamnesty if he was the only one running. He never answers the questions asked of him and the way he attacks anyone that doesn't agree with him on granting another amnesty is obscene. Then when he was honored by LaRaza and called his constituents biggots and racists, that did it for me. He isn't even a RINO, he should change his party affiliation immediately. Bob Conley is more of a Republican than Grahamnesty is. I will be voting for Bob this November because Grahamnesty has forgotten who elected him in the first place. He doesn't deserve to have a seat in the senate. He doesn't even deserve to be in charge of dog control. You blew it Grahamnesty and hopefully the good people of this state will show you the door on November 4th.

There isn't much likelihood of Graham being part of a republican administration being as there isn't likely to be a republican administration for the next few years. Glory! Glory! Before the wayextreme right starts calling names and wishing me and my ilk to hell and all I will just say to them, Go sit on it!

Lindsey Graham and John McCain LIED
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTI2L3zIb...
Lindsey Graham said he was in SC talking to small business owners and they supported the "No Bank Left Behind Bill" but Lindsey Graham never came to SC. HE LIED! HE LIED! HE LIED! He did what he always does, which is to do what he wants to do against the American People!
On Nov 4th, vote for Bob Conley
