The following events all take place at the Dorchester County Library at 76 Old Trolley Road in Summerville. For more information on any of the following programs, call 871-5075.

--Teen game night. From 6-9 p.m., the library will be open to 50 teenagers in grades 6-12 for Teen Game Night. Participants must register to play. Forms are available at the library.

Among the games on tap are Dance Revolution, Lego Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts and other online games. Participants also can bring handheld electronic games. Snacks will be provided.

--Public speaking workshop. College of Charleston professor Linda Wills will offer tips, practices and exercises on overcoming the fear of public speaking on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. The program is free to the public.

--Adult computer classes. Three free computer classes for adults are scheduled to be offered during October. Registration for each class begins on Oct. 6 and will last until each class is filled.

The classes are: "WWW What? An Introduction to Computers & the Internet" on Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.; "Finding What You Want on the Internet" on Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m., and "E-mail Basics" on Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.

--Banned Books Week. The Dorchester County Library along with the American Library Association is celebrating Banned Book Week through Saturday. The library will display the most challenged books in public and school libraries. For more information and to view the most challenged books of 2007, visit www.ala.org/ala/bbooks.

--Library closed on Oct. 13. The Dorchester County Library and book returns will be closed on Oct. 13 for a staff development workshop. Library materials are not due on that day and fines will not be assessed when the library is closed for the workshop. The library and the book returns will reopen on Oct. 14.
