Swinney to be named coach at Clemson

As first reported by The Post and Courier Saturday afternoon, Dabo Swinney has agreed in principle to become Clemson's next head football coach.
Swinney met with Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips on Sunday afternoon and agreed to a four-year deal worth $1 million a season.
An official announcement is expected to come either today or Tuesday.

Bowden was fired for having a 3-3 record...so Clemson is going to hire an assistant under Bowden who has a record that is one game better at 4-2? Yabba Dabo dooooo!

Good for him - he deserves it! He turned around a team that had lost their coach and given up on their season (not a small task). He has great energy and has been wonderful for the program. Congrats Dabo!

He lost to Georgia Tech with less than a week of preparation. The 2nd loss was to Florida State. No one gave Clemson a chance to win that one. Finishing 4-2 to me is real impressive. As well Clemson will maintain recruiting lines already built,they have an awesome Defensive Coordinator, he has proven he can retain a lead and he has momentum. Why wouldn't they hire him. Seems to me he is a steal at a million a year.
