The crew of the Charleston-based Loose Lucy fishing team with a 57-pound, 10-ounce king mackerel caught in the Walmart FLW Kingfish Tour Championship in Biloxi, Miss. Cas and Todd Manley posted rounds of 71 and 69 for a 4-under-par 140 total to win the Johnny Adams Mixed Team Championship held last weekend at Charleston Municipal Golf Course. The Manleys finished two strokes in front of first-round leaders Lindsay Livingston and Tommy Bullock, who recorded a final-round 73. Kathy Gordon and Todd Gerhart finished third in the Championship Flight at 75-76—151. Cynthia and David Andereck won the Senior First Flight with a 71-72—143. Sandy and Jay Bland won the Senior Second Flight with a score of 78-74—152. Pam and Ron Meek won the Senior Third Flight with an 82-76—158. Forty-three teams participated in the tournament. C of C golf signs three College of Charleston men's golf coach Mark McEntire has announced the signing of three players for the class of 2009, Michael Montgomery of Hilton Head Christian, John Duke Hudson of Sonora, Texas, and Tim Mitchell of Austin, Texas. Montgomery is ranked 10th among class of 2009 members in the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. He won the Hilton Head Junior Golf Championship and finished fourth at The Blade. He also is the 2008 club champion at Daufuskie Island and holds the course record at Haig Point. Mitchell is ranked 10th in Texas Junior Golf, while Hudson is ranked 12th in Texas Junior Golf. PGA elects Dataw member Ted Bishop, a golf member and winter resident at Dataw Island Club in St. Helena, has been elected as secretary of the Professional Golfers Association of America. Bishop is also the director of golf at The Legends Of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind. In being elected to the national office, Bishop is on track to become the president of the national organization, which represents more than 28,000 club professionals throughout the country. Traditionally, the officers move up every two years, meaning Bishop would become president of the organization in two years.
