NFL clears way for Pacman

ARLINGTON, Texas — The NFL is giving Adam "Pacman" Jones another chance.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Wednesday the suspended cornerback has been reinstated by league commissioner Roger Goodell, but will not play this Sunday or the following game on Thanksgiving. That would peg his return for Dec. 7 at Pittsburgh.

Jerry Jones said Adam Jones could return to practice Monday. The owner said the player would have "limited participation" this week, but would not be part of full-squad practices or conditioning.

Pacman was suspended Oct. 14, a week after getting into an alcohol-related scuffle with a team-paid bodyguard. He played six games after missing the entire 2007 season for the Titans because of repeated legal troubles.

Jaguars

Former first-round draft pick Troy Williamson never really got along with coach Brad Childress in Minnesota.

His feelings haven't changed since leaving there, either. Williamson, now in Jacksonville, said he lost respect for his former coach last year and would like to "duke it out" with him when the Vikings visit Sunday.

"We can meet on the 50-yard line and we can go at it," the former South Carolina star said.

The 6-1, 200-pound receiver said he liked his chances against Childress, too, especially with a few inches and at least 10 pounds on the coach. Williamson even said he would fight with both hands tied behind his back. Childress countered by saying, "He must not be aware there's a buffer zone between the opponents."

Giants

While he seemingly had no problem moving side to side and running forward during individual drills, halfback Brandon Jacobs wants to wait another day before saying whether he will play against Arizona this weekend.

"I feel good," Jacobs said. "The last time I had this injury I couldn't walk the next day and I was out for three weeks."

Jacobs, who is 121 yards shy of his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season, tweaked his left knee during Sunday's win over Baltimore. An MRI showed no structural damage.

Buccaneers

Tampa Bay leading rusher Earnest Graham will miss the rest of the season after injuring his right ankle during last week's victory over the Vikings. Graham limped off the field after his only carry against the Vikings.

The Bucs said he hurt his ankle, but did not release specifics about the injury. With Graham out, Warrick Dunn moves into the featured tailback role.

Browns

Tight end Kellen Winslow sprained his right shoulder in Monday night's win over Buffalo, an injury unlikely to keep him out for an extended period.

An MRI taken Tuesday revealed no structural damage in Winslow's shoulder. Coach Romeo Crennel said and that the five-year veteran's status for Sunday's game against the Texans would depend on getting strength and range of motion in his shoulder.

Seahawks

The Seahawks placed Patrick Kerney on injured reserve, ending the season for Seattle's top pass rusher. Kerney had shoulder surgery earlier this month. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end had five sacks in seven games this season.

Saints

The struggling ground game took another hit when tailback Aaron Stecker was put on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season. Stecker has a hamstring problem and became the 13th player on the Saints' list.

Joining him on the sidelines is tight end Mark Campbell, who sustained a season-ending injury to his left knee in Sunday's win at Kansas City.

Bengals

The Bengals placed receiver Antonio Chatman on injured reserve, three days after he suffered a neck injury during a 13-13 tie with the Eagles.
