Metro chamber to host legislative reception

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is hosting is annual legislative reception tonight at the Aquarium Wharf.

More than 330 local, state and federal elected officials have been invited. The event is intended to give the community a chance to interact with their elected officials. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, state Superintendent of Education Jim Rex, state Treasurer Converse Chellis and state Attorney General Henry McMaster are expected to attend.

The chamber will also release its state and federal legislative agenda for the 2009. The chambers public policy committee outlined its priorities as its relates to infrastructure, health care, workforce development, energy and the environment and other matters.
